ABOUT US

CITY WEST LOTTERIES HOUSE

We believe that communities are important and that meeting places are essential for effective collaboration, community engagement, and learning.

Lotteries Houses in this state were established to provide community organisations with affordable office rental space and a community base in which to form supportive relationships. Organisations in our buildings are diverse and support many people in the community.

Tenants are provided with services such as meeting rooms, photocopying and postal services. This enables their working day to be focused on delivering their unique value to their communities.

City West Lotteries House also has associate members who are able to make regular use of meeting rooms at very affordable rates.

City West Lotteries House has a great team who will do their best to assist you and ‘make your day’.

History of Lotteries Houses & CWLH

The first Lotteries House was established by the Lotteries Commission of WA on Stirling Street in Perth in 1988, with the aim of providing not-for-profit organisations access to affordable office space in the Perth CBD.

The initiative was so popular that the Lotteries Commission soon began looking to replicate its success in other WA community hubs. By the mid-'90s, Lotteries Houses were established all over the State.

As time went on, it became apparent that the operational costs of the original Stirling Street Lotteries House were too high. The decision was made to relocate the organisation, and, after an extensive search, the Board settled on 2 Delhi Street in West Perth. Situated on the fringe of the Perth CBD, this new site was more economical, easily accessible by public transport, and had the capacity to accommodate all the existing tenants. On December 3rd, 1999, City West Lotteries House Inc. officially opened for business in West Perth.

In the twenty-plus years since, City West Lotteries House has gone from strength to strength. Our building harbours a flourishing and close-knit community of not-for-profit organisations, championing causes ranging from LGBTQI support to environmental conservation to ending family violence. We are very proud of the role that we play in supporting these organisations and look forward to many more years of service to the WA community.

City West Lotteries House is a proud member of the wider network of  Lotteries Houses within Western Australia.

Some Lotteries Houses cater for similar or like-minded not-for-profit organisations; such as the Niche Lotteries House in Nedlands, which houses organisations involved in the delivery of services related to neurological diseases. Others, such as City West Lotteries House, have a broad range of NFP tenants, making each Lotteries House in WA an entirely unique community service-based organisation
